These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and DIGITAL IT ADVISOR COMPANY LIMITED, a company registered in Thailand ("DiiL", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the DiiL messenger app and related services ("DiiL"). By creating an account or using DiiL, you agree to these Terms and to our Community Guidelines. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Your account #
- You need a mobile phone number to create an account. You confirm it with a one-time code sent by SMS.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Give accurate information and keep your phone number up to date. You are responsible for everything done with your account, so keep access to your phone and device secure.
- Your nickname must not imitate another person or organisation, mislead others or break the Community Guidelines.
- One person may not use DiiL to impersonate someone else or to run accounts on behalf of others without their permission.
2. Using DiiL #
DiiL lets you send messages, photos, videos, files and voice messages, make one-to-one voice and video calls, and use mini apps from other companies inside the app.
You may use DiiL only lawfully and in line with these Terms and the Community Guidelines. You must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- send spam, bulk or automated messages, or messages people did not ask for;
- harass, threaten, bully or abuse other people;
- interfere with DiiL, its servers or other users, try to access accounts or data that are not yours, or try to bypass our limits or security;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell DiiL, or access it with bots or scripts we have not allowed.
3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse #
DiiL has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Objectionable content includes, among other things: sexual content involving minors in any form; content that promotes or threatens violence or terrorism; hate speech and discrimination; harassment and bullying; sharing intimate images without consent; content that promotes self-harm; illegal goods and services; fraud and scams. The Community Guidelines describe what is not allowed in more detail.
If you post objectionable content or abuse other users, we will remove the content and may suspend or permanently ban your account, without prior notice. Where the law requires it, or where someone's safety is at risk, we may report it to the authorities.
4. Reporting and blocking #
- Report any message, user, group or mini app that breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, directly from the app: Report in the message menu, Report user in a user's profile, Report group in the group menu, Report in a mini app's menu. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We do not tell the reported person who reported them. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the content and, where appropriate, banning the user who posted it.
- Block any user at any time. A blocked user cannot message or call you. You can see and unblock the users you blocked in Profile → Privacy & security → Blocked users.
- Group administrators can remove messages and members in their groups.
5. Your content #
- You keep all rights to what you send in DiiL ("your content"). You are responsible for it and confirm that you have the right to share it.
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to operate DiiL for you and the people you communicate with. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or to handle a report.
- We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not sell it.
- We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or that we must remove by law.
6. Calls #
We do not record or store the content of calls. Calls are not a replacement for emergency services: DiiL cannot be used to call emergency numbers.
7. Mini apps #
7.1 Mini apps are run by others #
Mini apps in DiiL are web apps provided by other companies ("developers"). We do not run them. The developer is solely responsible for its mini app, for what it offers and for how it treats you, under the developer's own terms and privacy policy. We review mini apps before publication, but we do not guarantee their quality, safety or availability.
7.2 Your data #
- A mini app receives data from DiiL only after you agree, and only what you agreed to. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what.
- When a mini app is open, your device connects to the developer's servers, which see your IP address. Anything you enter in a mini app goes to its developer.
- You can disconnect a mini app at any time in Profile → Privacy & security → Connected apps.
7.3 Purchases #
DiiL does not sell anything in mini apps and does not process payments for them. If you buy something in a mini app, your contract is with its developer, who handles delivery, refunds and complaints.
7.4 Disputes with developers #
Resolve any dispute about a mini app with its developer. If a mini app breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, report it from the app and we will review it. We may remove a mini app at any time.
7.5 Changes #
We may change, limit or stop mini apps as a feature, or any individual mini app, without notice.
8. Deleting your account #
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Privacy & security → Delete account. Deleted data cannot be restored. Messages you already sent stay in your chats and groups and remain visible to the other participants. Our Privacy Policy explains what else is kept and for how long.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if the law requires it, or if your account puts other users or DiiL at risk. Where we can, we tell you why.
9. Changes to DiiL and to these Terms #
DiiL is under active development. We may add, change or remove features.
We may update these Terms. The current version is always at diil.pro/terms, and earlier versions stay available there. We will tell you about material changes in the app before they take effect. If you keep using DiiL after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using DiiL and delete your account.
10. Disclaimers and liability #
DiiL is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it reliable and secure, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that messages will always be delivered.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, for content sent by other users, or for mini apps of other developers. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of your country.
11. Additional terms #
If you publish a mini app, the Developer Agreement also applies to you.
12. General #
- If a part of these Terms is invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right, we do not give it up.
13. Contact #
We do not handle requests by email. For questions about these Terms, support or reports, use the support form in the DiiL app: Profile → Support.
