DiiL is a place to talk with friends, family, communities and the businesses you use. These guidelines explain what is not allowed in DiiL and what we do when someone breaks the rules. They are part of our Terms of Service. They apply to everything in DiiL: messages, media, voice messages, calls, profiles (nicknames, avatars), groups and mini apps.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour.
1. Not allowed #
Child safety #
Any sexual content involving minors, in any form, including drawings and AI-generated images; grooming or sexualised contact with minors; sharing such content "as a joke" or to condemn it. We remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities. Our Child Safety Standards explain in detail what is prohibited, how to report it and what we do.
Violence and dangerous behaviour #
- Threats of violence against anyone, and content that incites or glorifies violence.
- Support for terrorist or violent extremist organisations, their propaganda or recruitment.
- Instructions for making weapons or explosives to cause harm.
- Content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.
Hate, harassment and bullying #
- Attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or illness.
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation or repeated contact with someone who does not want it, including from new accounts after being blocked.
- Publishing someone's private information (address, documents, phone number, private photos) without their consent.
Sexual content and intimate images #
- Sharing or threatening to share intimate images of someone without their consent, and sexual extortion.
- Unsolicited sexual content sent to people who did not ask for it.
Fraud, scams and spam #
- Scams, phishing, fake giveaways, pyramid schemes and misleading financial offers.
- Asking for DiiL login codes, passwords or payment card details.
- Spam: bulk, automated or unsolicited messages, and adding people to groups to advertise to them.
- Impersonating DiiL, another person, a business or an organisation.
Illegal goods and services #
Selling or promoting drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, stolen data or other illegal goods and services, and gambling without a required licence.
Rights of others #
Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
Abuse of DiiL #
Malware, attempts to hack accounts or DiiL itself, bots and scripts we have not allowed, and attempts to get around a ban.
2. Groups #
Group administrators are responsible for keeping their groups within these guidelines. They can remove messages and members. A group whose main purpose breaks these guidelines will be removed, and its administrators may be banned.
3. Mini apps #
Mini apps must also follow these guidelines and the Developer Agreement. Report a mini app that breaks the rules from the app.
4. How to protect yourself #
- Block anyone who bothers you. A blocked user cannot message or call you. You manage the list in Profile → Privacy & security → Blocked users.
- Report messages, users, groups and mini apps that break these guidelines directly in the app: Report in the message menu, Report user in a user's profile, Report group in the group menu, Report in a mini app's menu. The person you report is not told who reported them.
- Never share your login code. DiiL staff will never ask you for it.
5. How moderation works #
- DiiL has personal chats and groups, but no public channels. Our staff have no access to your personal chats.
- Moderation starts with reports. When you report something, the report includes a copy of the reported messages, and our moderators see only that. We keep reports as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Mini apps are reviewed before publication and again after every change.
6. What we do #
- Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours.
- Depending on how serious the violation is, we remove the content, warn the user, limit features, or suspend or permanently ban the account. For the most serious violations (for example child sexual abuse material or credible threats of violence) we ban the account immediately and may report it to the authorities.
- We may also act on violations we find ourselves, not only on reports.
- If you think we made a mistake, write to us through the support form in the app: Profile → Support.
7. Changes #
We may update these guidelines. The current version is always at diil.pro/community-guidelines, and earlier versions stay available there.
